36^th Annual Friendship Day’s Thunder Run Entrance to the base for motorcycles begins at the Monzen Gate at 0600 – 0900. Members of the Iwakuni Motorcycle Club will be at the gate to escort you to staging area and parking. All participants of the thunder run need to be on base and staged by 0900. Please remember traffic will be heavy, ride safe. Rules of MCAS Iwakuni are enforced. No knives, clubs, gun, replica gun, or weapon or replica weapon will be allowed on base and could get individual escorted off the base. Please remember to bring safety required gear for riding on the air station. 

 Suo-Oshima Town to receive ¥300,000  Iwakuni City to receive ¥200,000 The 6th Oshima Camp meeting brought out more than 500 people from 17 different prefectures in Japan. This is larger than previous years. People came from Yamaguchi, Hiroshima, Okayama, Shimane, Tottori, Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Saga, Miyazaki, Nagasaki, Kohchi, Ehime, Tokushima, Hyogo, Osaka, Saitama and Tokyo prefectures! With visits from the Vice-Mayor of Suo-Oshima Town and the Mayor of Iwakuni this year’s meeting was a wonderful success. The success would not have been possible without all the volunteers and staff that helped organize and execute this event. The proceeds after expenses are allowing for a donation to not only Suo-Oshima Town but Iwakuni City also. These donations will be delivered in May of this year.  

収益金から50万円（周防大島30万円，岩国市20万円）を寄付させていただくことができそうです。5月中にお届けする予定です。

今年は17の都道府県(*)から500人以上の方にご参加いただきました。周防大島副町長，岩国市長にも参加していただき，過去最高のチャリティイベントとなりました。ご協力に感謝いたします。

お疲れ様でした!!

Several of us went to visit Sazanami-en, an elderly care facility on Oshima Island, on Sunday. There was 10 club members and about 29 resident there for the visit. Everyone had a great visit and we are all looking forward for the next one. Even with a language barrier we had several members who speak both languages and helped those of us who do not. The reward for this visit was a filled heart. I don’t believe any of us walked away without being touched deeply by these people. Sunday was a day to tuck into your memory box and keep for all time. We thank the facility for allowing us the priveldge to interact with these amazing people.

On March 29 several of us will be going out to an elderly care facility for a meet and greet. The facility has requested that no more than 10 people attend. We will be setting up a second visit to help with any minor maintenance and cleanup that they need. Check back for pics of the meeting.stryteller2@yahoo.com

We went to “Garden Of Light” in Hatsukaichi City for helping MCCS. There’re about 50 children age 2 to 17. They all looked very happy to get the present you picked. Thank you.

今日，廿日市市にある光の園にMCCSの手伝いに行ってきました。ここには2歳から17歳までの約50人の子供達が暮らしていて，彼らはみんな，皆さんが選んだプレゼントをもらって幸せそうでした。ご協力ありがとうございました。

The Secondary Mission of the Club is to either sponsor or assist in the sponsorship of events deemed to be of good interests and promote positive community relations for MCAS Iwakuni, such as Friendship Day, Oshima Bike Meet, and Toys for Tots motorcycle events.
