CLUB BY-LAWS
IWAKUNI MOTORCYCLE CLUB OF IWAKUNI

THE PURPOSE OF THE IWAKUNI MOTORCYCLE CLUB OF IWAKUNI IS FOR THE OWNERS OF ALL MOTORCYCLES TO BE AFFORDED A MEANS OF ASSOCIATING WITH OTHERS WITH A COMMON BOND: THAT BOND BEING THE MOTORCYCLES THEY RIDE. A BROTHERHOOD OF SORTS.

1.  MEMEBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

    a.  Own and operate (in Japan) a motorcycle of any make, year or model of which is properly registered in Japan (SOFA personnel must follow base regulations for the registration of your bike)or individual interested in operating a motorcycle or operates a motorcycle in any location (legally and regulations followed by law or military regulation)

    b.  Be voted in by the majority of members present.

2.  CLUB LOGO/PATCH:  

     a.  The club will have a club logo/patch, however it is a member’s choice as to whether he/she chooses to purchase or wear them.

    b.  If a member chooses to purchase and wear club logo/patch they will be worn in a proper manner.  This manner set forth by the board of directors.

    c.  The club logo/patches are property of the club.  Cost of the patch/logo can be made in the form of paying membership/dues in advance.  The patch/logo is club property and must be worn in accordance with club rules.  If a member is found in violation of the club rules, then the patch/club must be returned to the club.  If a member PCS’s, or leaves the club in good standing they may keep the patch/logo.

    d.  The club logo/patch may be revoked for the below reasons.  If they are revoked the board of directors will hold a special meeting to determine a reasonable refund to the member. 
 
     (1) REASONS FOR REVOKING THE CLUB COLORS:
  
          (a) Any act which brings discredit to the club.

          (b) Riding while visibly impaired.

          (c) Any grossly unsafe act performed while riding.

          (d) Missing one year of club functions / meetings (unless member is TAD, etc.). If dues are not up to date, a member shall be considered burdensome to the club.

          (e) Failure to pay dues for three consecutive months without due cause (determined by all officers).

          (f) Failure to attend the minimum Safe Riding events required by MCB Japan.
   
    (2)  A special meeting by the club officers will be held, with the accused member and his accuser (if that be the case) in attendance. At that time a determination will be made by the club membership on revoking the members Club Colors. If so voted, the members Club Colors will be returned to the Club. Ejected members will be barred from all future club meetings and functions.

3.  CLUB OFFICERS:

     a.  PRESIDENT: The Club President will preside over all monthly meetings and have the tie-breaking vote on all disciplinary proceedings.

    b.  VICE-PRESIDENT: The VP will assume the responsibilities and obligations during the Presidents absence.

    c.  SECRETARY: The Secretary will maintain the meetings minutes.

    d.  TREASURER: The Treasurer will be responsible for the clubs funds and give a financial statement at monthly meetings.

    e.  ROAD CAPTAIN:  The Road Captain is responsible for organizing and leading all clubs runs

    f.  SAFETY OFFICER:  The Safety Officer is responsible providing safety briefs at all meetings and prior to all runs.

    g. PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER: The Public Relations Officer will be responsible for all advertisement and information released to the public.

4.  DUES:

     a.   Dues will be ¥500 per month, collectable at the first meeting of each month.

     b.  Dues may be paid in advance if a member desires but no monetary refunds will be given to disbarred members with the exception of the cost of the returned Club Colors.

     c.  Club funds will be available on all sponsored runs for members with an emergency. Any funds borrowed will be repaid at the next scheduled club meeting.

     d.   Club funds will be used primarily for special club sponsored events and charities or as the membership majority sees fit.  These functions also include family members.

     e.  All non-members attending club sponsored runs / parties will be required to pay their fair share.

     f.  In the event the club is disestablished, all funds still in the Treasury after the DISBANNING PARTY will be given to a needy charity voted on by the majority membership.

5.  CLUB RUNS:

    a.  All club runs will be led by the designated Road Captain or a volunteer.

    b.  The maximum speed on club runs will be that of the slowest rider.

    c.  A staggered formation will be mandatory on all open roads and a single file on all congested roadways.

    d.  First aid kits will be maintained by the Road Captain.

6.  CLUB MEETINGS:

    a.  Club meetings will be held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at a place to be determined. The time to meet will be 1200. Changes to club meeting locations will be determined at each meeting if needed and will be the President or the Secretary’s responsibility to notify any members not in attendance.

    b.  Club runs will be held on the 2nd Sunday of the month if weather permits. In the event of inclement weather club runs will go the next Sunday.  Club runs will be determined at the club meeting.

    c.  Meeting date and time will be posted on the Events page located on the www.iwakunimotorcycle.com website.
